I just wanted to write a short note to all the Democrats who blame Republicans for Trump. Here is the thing: you are to blame for Trump. In 2016 you nominated a candidate that deservedly should have gone down in history as the only candidate ever nominated that could lose to Trump. However, rather than regroup and collectively pull your heads out, this year, 2020, you choose the candidate that you overlooked in 2016 to run against Trump. It is almost like you dummied down your selection because you would rather see a good fight than nominate someone who might make a good President.
But here is the real thing: if you are offended by the above because you identify as a Democrat or if you support the above because you identify as a Republican or had I had hypothetically said something about a current popular movement that is not based on a real understanding of law enforcement statistics, and you are offended because you identify as a member of one race or support it because you identify as a member of another race then you are part of the problem. Until we all start identifying as Americans and learn to live together equally, until we stop electing politicians who support our special interests and start electing people who have the best interest of us all in mind, the nation will continue to fall. But, 244 years is a pretty good run.
Maybe next time you will realize that a country built on the idea of universal suffrage should focus more on education.
